On May 14th, at the Farmer’s Market, Saskatoon will crown their first ever official Air Guitar Champion. And to help make the decision that will go down in history books we have our fifth and final member of the jury: Peter MorningWood.
From the land of a thousand tiki lounges, a cunning linguist, a rhinestone addict, an entrepreneur, a pope, ukulele fu master, used car salesman.
He has met all of these people. Mostly.
Peter MorningWood is one the founding members of Menagerie Burlesque Company. A freight train of glamour and glitter. Uncouth, uninhibited and unapologetic, they deliver body positive, gender inclusive, theatrical burlesque experiences that will charm your pants off. Repeatedly. Slowly. Or faster if you’re into that.
You may have seen him in such acts as ‘The second worst magician in this room’, ‘Nude Photography’ and ‘Who Stole My Salami?’ Known by some as the Velvet Shatner; he has studied under Ray Gunn, Bazuka Joe, Miss Indigo Blue, Waxie Moon and Willy Barrett.
He rocks a ‘dad bod’, and knows intimately, very intimately, the form and movement of sensational spectacles. He is an ideal air guitar championships judge. Because, isn’t Air Guitar ultimately the burlesque of mime? Or something like that?
