JEANINE SUTURE FOR THE FIRST WIN OF THE 2018 SEASON!
It was an amazing rock n’ roll night happening in Sherbrooke, Quebec, for the first local competition of the season.
Around 150 people gathered at the Boquébière to watch 14 (!!) air guitarists rocking their invisible axes for Arrimage Estrie, an organisation dedicated to body positivity, and CALACS, an organisation helping victims of sexual violence.
Emceed by Sheila Quinn and Stéphane Bessette, the night went smoothly with performances by many new talents of the region, many having not heard of competitive air guitar until that night. 2015-2016 Montreal champ Hélène Laurin, metal journalist Luc Lainé and metal musician Johnny Maximum were the judges for the night.
Jeanine Suture is our first regional winner of the season, having stolen the jury’s hearts. In fact, she also won the audience’s ballot and the special R Guitar hand-made by Stéphane Bessette; a hat trick! She performed to the song ”Calvaire” by Caféine.
Thank you to the organizing committee, to Carole-Anne Fortin, Julie Witty-Chagnon, Mélissa Guimond and Danika Lépine (of Arrimage Estrie and CALACS) and to the wonderful photographer, Hani Ferland!
